Nothing beats a home Olympics, according to Shane Heal.

Getting the venue plan right helped make Sydney 2000 an Olympics to remember for รับสร้างบ้านลำปาง the basketball great.

And Heal is hoping the soon-to-be-revealed 2032 infrastructure will help ensure the Brisbane Games will be an event hard to forget.

"I was lucky enough to go to four Olympics," he told AAP.

"But there is nothing compared to having it at home, having the full support of a home crowd at a great venue, like the one we played in the final four.

"That experience is something you never forget."

The Queensland government on Tuesday will finally unveil the Games blueprint following a 100-day review and a number of false starts since Brisbane was named host in July 2021.

A 60,000-seat main stadium will reportedly be built in inner Brisbane's Victoria Park near a new $650 million aquatic centre.

Hockey is set to one of the big winners, with reports it will be held on the Gold Coast at a revamped 2018 Commonwealth Games venue instead of Brisbane's Ballymore rugby field.

However, a planned Commonwealth-backed $2.5 billion Brisbane Arena in the CBD may be scrapped along with another major indoor sports centre that was slated to host basketball.

Rowing may also be disappointed with reports the sport will be hosted on central Queensland's Fitzroy River in crocodile country, raising concerns it may not meet international standards.

Heal was hopeful Brisbane 2032 would put on a great show, and the likes of basketball was provided a fitting stage.

He expected basketball to be the "hottest ticket in town" in 2032.

"It's by far the most high-profile team sport at the Olympics ...there's all those NBA guys," he said.

"Looking at the sport's growth and popularity, you would think they would want the biggest and best facility they possibly can (for Brisbane 2032)."

The Olympic veteran hoped the 2032 venue plan would provide legacy projects for sports such as basketball in the Queensland capital, where he started his career with the Bullets back in 1988 based at Boondall's Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

"Look at the facilities at Brisbane. Boondall is a bit of a dinosaur," he said.

"I played my first year there in 1988. It was great back then but that was 37 years ago."

A new aquatic centre will reportedly feature in the venue plan, ditching an initial proposal to hold swimming in a drop-in pool.

"Having it in a drop-in pool would be a total loss of opportunity," Swimming Australia CEO Rob Woodhouse told AAP.

"A new aquatic centre is needed in Brisbane regardless of the Games."

Football Australia called for a permanent 30,000-seat stadium, preferably at Brisbane's Perry Park ahead of the venue reveal.

The Queensland Tennis Centre is reportedly set to receive a $113 million upgrade to ensure the sport is not relocated to Melbourne in 2032.

Equestrian events may also be moved to Toowoomba and sailing relocated from Moreton Bay up to north Queensland.

The venue plan may also provide an insight into the ageing Gabba's future and the main athletes village location, with reports it may be relocated.

The Queensland government and the Commonwealth had agreed to a $7.1 billion funding envelope for venues split 50-50, with $2.5 billion federal dollars allocated to the Brisbane Arena.
